Sustainable Energy for All

User research and prototyping to help carbon investors evaluate high risk projects in the clean cooking sector.

Overview

In 2019, SEforALL gathered stakeholders from across the clean cooking sector to think big about solutions that might radically accelerate sector growth. In one charrette, participants recommended building a data platform, because they considered open access to information about projects, stoves, and customer preferences an important step to designing, delivering, funding, and measuring more effective interventions.

Process

Evolve followed an iterative, user-driven design approach to translate these goals into a web-based prototype. The final prototype included a website, a dashboard, a database design with real data from 200 existing projects, and an initial repository of shareable surveys.

Outcome

The final designs, along with a details report on the process, were presented to SEforALL’s Clean Cooking Data Initiative Steering Committee. Members from the steering committee voted for the designs to move forward into development and become integrated into SEforALL’s existing data platforms.
