Services
Whether you are working on problem definition or well on your way to building a product, we can add value in the following areas.
Scaling Technical Teams
This is by far our most commonly called on service. We bring nearly a decade of hiring and collaborating with extraordinary engineers in Latin America. Their expertise covers the full range of technical skills needed for software development: full-stack engineering, front-end development, data science, data engineering, DevOps, and application back-end development.
In addition to handling cross-country contracts for our clients, we manage the recruiting and hiring process. We stay involved with client collaborations through regular retrospectives and support, even in cases where engineers become fully integrated into a company’s software team. Over the years, we’ve seen the ongoing value of making time to care for collaborations, the people engaged in them and the work they do together.
Customer Development
We’re advocates for Customer Development as part of software design and development projects. We’ve seen, over and over, the value of listening to existing or potential customers and building relationships in the process of designing and delivering new products.
In practice, Customer Development looks like interviews, user testing, and sometimes the drafting of user personas.
Product (and Service) Design
Product Design may be the more popular term, but a lot of times, we find it helpful to begin with Service Design. Products and the people they serve operate in large and complex ecosystems and Service Design allows us to take that broader picture before refining a product.
Service and Product Design activities might include customer journey maps, building and testing prototypes, and establishing partnerships with other teams.
User Research and UX Design
Gone are the days when we had to fight for user research and user experience design. Most clients we work with now value the contributions these disciplines make to the usefulness and usability of products.
UI/UX activities might include usability testing, identifying and fixing pain points, simplifying tasks, and establishing consistent design elements across a product.
Data Science and Engineering
A number of our early projects centered around Data Science and Engineering. Clients wanted helping picking a starting point and focus for product improvements, based on existing data. Or wanted help building a robust data pipeline for a new product. At this point, we’re comfortable connecting the dots from start to finish, including data visualizations and design. And comfortable working with the specifics of highly technical sub-fields within the Energy and Climate industries.
